There are indications that the United States are interested in buying Greenland, an autonomous country and the world's largest island, from Denmark.
The current US President, Donald Trump, wants to take his real estate acquisition skills to another level with this move.
According to CNN, Greenland is home to 56,000 people, and the notion of buying an indigenous people and their ancestral lands smacks of colonialism and is deeply problematic. Given how Trump's real estate projects worked out for the islanders of New York City — $360 million in forgiven or uncollected taxes with another $885 million in tax breaks going to luxury apartments, hotels and office buildings — it would be financially savvy for Denmark to steer clear of President Trump's crony capitalism.

Art, Science and Technology are as important as air on earth. I remember when we were in secondary school and we all thought only the smart ones deserve to study science courses.
Alas, we were wrong. Good music has been able to cure several mental illnesses just like medicine. Technology has reached great heights, but what's the use of a great flat screen TV without a good movie to watch alongside.
Appreciate arts, appreciate science, appreciate technology, for they all require creativity and hardwork, and our lives depend on them all. The people good at art are smart too. Not just the science and tech guys.
Global Warming, Climate Change. When you hear these things, you think scientists and researchers are trying to play with some fancy words?
Herdsmen farmers' clashes have cost several lives in Nigeria this year alone. The casualty, even as big as it seems, is just a tip of the iceberg of other products of the impending climate crises.
Desert is taking over more fertile lands. Antarctica is getting warmer, and ice melting, which only increases the volume of the oceans. This rise in sea level swallows more lands. Resources will get scarce and when the little left isn't managed and shared properly - crises.
I'm not a prophet of doom, but I preach climate change and global warming. Preach as much as you can because we have no other planet, yet.

A 150-year-old church in Wakefield, Mass., was engulfed in flames on Tuesday after being struck by lightning during a storm. Remarkably, the one thing to survive the blaze was a large painting of Jesus.
The fire was first reported on Tuesday evening, when members of the church were meeting inside. Everyone evacuated the burning building safely, but it took hours and more than 100 firefighters to tame the flames destroying the First Baptist Church. People from the community were reluctantly saying goodbye to the community landmark, built in 1872, as it burned to the ground, when one first responder emerged from the structure with a painting that was miraculously undamaged.

This platform has been here since 2013. Funny enough, we closed down around 2015 when it seemed we were becoming too political about Syria. Now, we are re-opening and we hope that everyone will be able to express himself or herself without fear.
Moderators will however remove anything we feel is not best for the platform. Have fun!

A political group, Operation Deliver Your Unit (ODYU), says President Muhammadu Buhari will defeat Atiku Abubakar, an Adamawa indigene and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State.
The group vowed to work for Buhari's victory on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election.
ODYU, believed to have been founded by the Crown Prince of Yola Emirate and Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mohammed Barkindo, has strategically constituted supporters in all the 2,609 polling units in the state.
Barkindo's support for Buhari is also aimed at challenging the ambition of Atiku, who is also the Wazirin Adamawa (number two man in the Adamawa Emirate).
